Take it on the weights.
I did not plan to become a trainer. I was working, stressed, and I just wanted to punch somebody. A friend at work heard me and said, take it on the weights. So I started working out with him — and I fell in love with it.
Then my left shoulder started giving out in the middle of a set. I did my own research, found the world of stability work, and started doing it. People at the gym saw the exercises, asked what they did, and tried them. A lot of them encouraged me to do personal training because of the way I explained it — people I had never met before. So I did it.
It was not easy. There were months I did not have money for what I needed, and people still made sure I could get my work done. I pushed through it. That season taught me the thing I now give to every client: the plan only works if it survives real life.
I named this Wellness in Motion because that is what I am actually coaching — not a number on a scale, but a body that works. I coach according to the goal, because I believe the body you were given is a trust, and taking care of it is a form of respect. Your season of life, your body, your calling: same foundation, different build. Two years in, training the women of West Palm Beach in person and online, I still coach the way that shoulder taught me — foundation first, and never let anybody say they can't.
